Missouri Sales Tax Holiday, April 2017
The sales of qualifying Energy Star certified new appliances will be exempt from Missouri sales tax from April 19-25, 2017.
The Missouri sales tax holiday for qualifying Energy Star certified new appliances was established in 2009 with the enactment of House Bill No. 253 and takes place every year from April 19 through April 25.
The exemption is limited to $1,500 per appliance and applies to the first $1,500 for qualifying appliances costing more than that.
It is important to note that local jurisdictions can choose to participate in the sales tax holiday. For more information, view a map of participating locations to see where you can save.
The following Energy Star certified appliances are exempt from state sales tax during the tax-free period:
- Air conditioners
- Clothes washers and dryers
